2011 Programs & Events
• Thursday, May 12, 7:00 p.m. at the Winfield Public Library — The Civil War in General
The circumstances of the Civil War created opportunities for the ordinary man of ambition and adventure to seek his fame and fortune as a General. Some of the men appointed to the rank of General had military experience. Most did not. The stories of success and failure of these ordinary men as Generals along with Jim Weren’s superb portrait art serves as the centerpiece of this powerful presentation. This program is a truly unique and memorable view of the American Civil War, from the artist’s perspective.
