WINFIELD RUN XXV

Saturday, August 9, 2008
Winfield Run XXV will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008. The Run is the major fundraiser for the Winfield Historical Society, and proceeds are dedicated to the restoration of Hedges Station, the oldest building in Winfield and the oldest remaining depot in the state of Illinois.

EVENTS
The Run includes a 10K, 5K Run/Walk and a 1M Run/Walk.

AGE GROUPS AND PRIZES
Age groups for the 10K and 5K races are 12 and under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Prizes are awarded to the winner in each age group, male and female, and ribbons to second and third place winners. In the 1 Mile Run, prizes go to the first male and female to finish, and ribbons go to all participants.

EVENT TIME
The 1M run/walk will begin at 7:45AM. The 5K and 10K events begin at 8AM.

REGISTRATION

No printer? No problem! Forms will be available at the Winfield Park District, Winfield Village Hall, Winfield Public Library, Glen Ellyn Running Company - 528 Duane in Glen Ellyn and various locations in the Village.

Registration willl be available on race day starting at 7AM.

FEES
Fees for the event are $20 up to noon Thursday, August 7 and $25 anytime after August 7 or on race day. The fee will include a t-shirt for the first 300 to register.

LOCATION
The start & finish lines will be west of Winfield Road on Beecher Street. The 5K and 10K routes have been USAFT certified. Registration will be at Lions Park, 1 block west of Winfield Road on Beecher Street.

PARKING

    School lots:
  1. West side of Winfield Road, ½ block south of Beecher St.
  2. Summit Drive, (2 blocks west of Winfield Rd.), south of Beecher St.
    Village lots:
  1. East side of Church St., (1 block east of Winfield Rd.), between Beecher St. and the railroad track.
  2. East side of Church St., north side of the railroad track, south of Jewel Rd. (Must cross the railroad track at Winfield Rd.)
  3. South side of Highlake Rd., 1 block north of railroad track, 1 block west of Winfield Rd. (Must cross the railroad track at Winfield Rd.)
